Gold has been part of our counter quietly for a while. As of this month, it's a full service.
What we take
- Jewellery in any condition, including broken chains, single earrings, and pieces missing stones
- Coins and small bars
- Watches with gold cases
- Inherited or mixed lots. We'll sort what has melt value from what's worth more intact, and tell you honestly which is which.
How it works
- We test and weigh in front of you, at the counter, not in a back room. You see the karat test and the scale.
- You leave with a written offer, valid for 7 days. Take it home, compare it, sleep on it. The number doesn't shrink when you come back.
- When you accept, you choose how you're paid. Canadian cash on the spot, or any of the 60+ currencies we stock, at that hour's rate. Selling a bracelet and flying to Dubai next week? You can walk out with dirhams.
That last part is something no bank in Ottawa can do, and it's exactly why gold makes sense at a currency counter.
Repairs too
Ring resizing, chain soldering, clasp replacement, and stone setting are handled through our partner jeweller. Drop off at our counter, and most pieces are back within a week.
What to bring
Photo ID. Gold transactions are recorded under the same FINTRAC rules as currency, and that paperwork is part of what makes us safe to sell to.
